PledgeMusic News Roadcase Royale Premiere New Song, “The Dragon”

[[jpg192582]]

Nancy Wilson first rose to fame as a member of the popular band Heart, whose career lasted over four decades. However, 35 million records sold worldwide were not enough for Wilson to call it quits. She recently started up her new project, Roadcase Royale, who have just released their debut album, First Things First.

The band recently gave the world a taste of what to expect from the album with the single, “The Dragon,” which premiered exclusively on Billboard. According to Billboard, the track was Wilson’s “open letter to the late Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley while he was in the throes of addiction. And in the wake of this year’s suicides by Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington, the message behind the album’s heaviest track is even stronger.”

“(Staley) was still around when I wrote it, but everybody saw it coming, that he was on his way down the chute. I mean, he was really in big trouble. He was completely destroying himself,” Wilson told Billboard. “So I saw it coming. It was a cautionary tale — ’Don’t go there, Layne! Stop!’ But now there are other people it can also be about, and it’s always going to apply to anything that pulls people down into the addiction dungeon.”

First Things First is now available on PledgeMusic along with signed copies and memorabilia, as well as VIP experiences with the band. Check out the complete offerings inside.

The Bamberg Symphony and Herbert Blomstedt took Bruckner’s Fifth Symphony on tour to four different cathedrals in Bavaria and Austria this summer.

…Perhaps I was thinking along those lines – or about the smoked beer from earlier – when I lost track of time and looked at my watch only five minutes before Blomstedt was to lift his baton up in the cathedral. I don’t remember when I last moved as

On November 12 the Roundhouse, Camden will host an evening of spectacular music making and collaboration, this year led by global star Angélique Kidjo

Following a hugely successful 2015 edition with Jamie Cullum, the Roundhouse will once again be taken over this autumn by a range of talented, emerging artists from across the globe. Part of the EFG London Jazz Festival, a variety of musical genres and styles will be fused with circus dramatics, with performers from as far afield as the Faroe Islands, Palestine, India and Brazil joining this hugely popular London event.

At the heart of this year’s project and joining the artists on stage will be three-time Grammy Award-winning, politically engaged, Beninese singer and global star Angélique Kidjo (pictured). She has produced an exclusive track for the project, which each participating group will be given to redefine in their own interpretation, culminating in a live collaborative performance at the Roundhouse in November.

Other artists set to perform include: Kinetika Bloco, Roundhouse Choir, Roundhouse Music Collective and Roundhouse Audio Collectives, Breakin’ Convention (Sadler’s Wells), Battersea Art Centres Beat Box Academy and Roundhouse Street Circus Collective.
