Discogs is proud to support Kids Dig, taking place at Josey Records in Dallas, TX on Saturday, November 10th, 2018.
Too Fresh Productions presents the third edition of this special event – a day focusing on vinyl education and record digging through various activities and stations for kids of all ages. The event will be held from 12pm-4pm. Kids Dig is a free event and open to the public.
Kids Dig was first held in October of 2016. The event came about by the desire to break the taboo of kids and vinyl records. Too often kids – and adults alike – who’ve never handled a record are either intimidated by the process or were never taught how to hold a record or needle properly. Too Fresh hopes to break this stigma and educate kids of all ages on this process.
Throughout the store there will be a number of activity stations for kids to engage in:
- Record Scavenger Hunt
- Cue Point Station
- DJ Name Tag Station
- Record Handling Station
- Needle/Hand on Record Station
- Turntable/Mixer Station
- Drum Machine Station
There will also be Kids Breakdancing Showcases, Kids DJ Showcases and a number of vinyl art stations for kids to create art and take home with them, as well as giveaways from Josey and Discogs.
Additionally, instructors from the Keep Spinning DJ Academy will be on site, as well as DJs, curators, influencers, and fans of DJ culture from the DFW metroplex to help throughout the day.
