The Hundred Years Gallery, a not-for-profit space showcasing, free improvisation, sonic experimentation and visual art in the heart of Hoxton, hosts a benefit on the weekend of 31 August and 1 September, with the aim of raising £1,000 for a new pair of loudspeakers for the site.
Over two days, the gallery will present a full programme of music, with John Butcher, Benedict Taylor, Mandhira de Saram, David Toop and Phil Durrant already confirmed to be among those performing. There will be no admission charge, but all donations and on-the-weekend takings from the sale of CDs provided by contributing artists and labels will go towards the fund. There will also be further ways to contribute to the PA fund: tracks donated by artists and exhumed from the gallery’s archive of in-concert recordings will be available on Bandcamp (hundredyearsgallery.bandcamp.com), and PayPal donations will be accepted via the gallery’s website.
