The week in mandersmedia

Hello and hope you’ve had a good week…

Two especially big announcements this week to tell you about.

We now accept bitcoin If you wish to pay by bitcoin, contact by message over at Discogs/Bookogs/Filmogs and the payment will be arranged. We are using the same payment system as some major companies and brands around the world. We believe this to be a great addition to the other payment options already offered. We are very interested to hear what you think about bitcoin.

We will be listing DVD and VHS on filmogs filmogs launched its Marketplace yesterday and we have some DVD and VHS titles ready to be listed! You will find them trickling on over the next handful of weeks. You’ll find the link to us in the Profile and Shipping Information on Discogs or go here.

More CDs, Cassettes and Vinyl will be listed this week, keep your eyes peeled, these will be across all sorts of genres and styles, we believe in stocking a wide variety of genres and formats for a wide choice.

Play grading focus This week we focus on the Akai 4000DS that’s used for Reel to Reel play grading, xagu on HiFi engine gives this 5 stars and says ‘Great little reel to reel. Amazing sound.’ Don’t forget, we are always able to play grade anything you wish to buy.

Podcast and/or YouTube? Would you like to see/hear podcasts and/or YouTube videos from us? We’d like to know.

Did you know? Ozzy Osbourne came a cropper when a catapult malfunctioned during his 1981 Diary Of A Madman tour. A catapult was supposed to throw meat into the audience but due to a fault when Ozzy put his foot on a lever, several pounds of offal hit the singer on the back of his head. (thanks to thisdayinmusic for this).

That’s it for this week, thanks as always for supporting us and to our customers, past, present and future.

Speak soon, John from mandersmedia

The week in mandersmedia

Welcome and hope you’ve had a good week…

We are now selling books! This week sees the launch of Bookogs and we are selling books, for the time being Discogs will be the main focus but Books will become moreso as time goes on, by the way, still look at Discogs for music books which we will be starting to list in the next week.

We’ve purchased a scanner! Mainly for administration but will be used for sleeves (Cassette, CD, 8 Track etc.) when we list more in the future.

Play Grading focus: Akai CR-81D This is the 8 Track machine used for play grading, this is seen as one of the best 8 Track machines ever made, you may be intrigued to know that 8 Track was created by a consortium lead by Bill Lear of Lear Jet fame. Anyway, here’s more information on the Akai CR-81D.

New Blogs and Podcasts added! 78Man is a enlightening podcast about the world of all things 78RPM from themed shows to favourites, each podcast is around 30 minutes each, if you’re a 78s collector or interested to know more about this format, have a listen. Keep an eye on the Blog as when they post, you will see it here.

#DiscogsData Discogs describes this as ‘All music trivia, all the time. Interesting facts on releases and genres in real-time.’ Again, watch this Blog as this will also appear here.

Discogs Seller Feedback, this is be a real-time posting of ALL feedback from customers purchasing from us on Discogs, we believe it’s important for you to see what experience you’ll get when purchasing from us.

A few other tweaks we’ve updated to bibliogs to bookogs and Instagram logos in the Seller’s Shipping infomation.

Price Reductions every week, we review the prices to continue to be fair and competitive in our pricing, please see the tags for a list of artists that have had Price Reductions, if you’d like to see what we have on your ‘Items I Want’ list, go to

That’s it for this time, have a great week ahead… John

The week in mandersmedia

Welcome! I hope you’ve had a great week…

The news this week is the chosen charity which mandersmedia supports… We are supporting Help Musicians UK, they support emerging musicians as well as those that are working and retired along with supporting musicians’ health and well-being. It’s such a great cause and fits in so well. They are currently raising funds for the world’s first dedicated 24/7 mental health service for people working in music. What a fantastic cause.

In other news, we have this rarity from the mid-sixties Prince Buster All Stars* ‎– It’s Burke’s Law just come in, a fantastic piece of Ska and Rocksteady on the legendary Blue Beat label. Along with this, we have rarities including these from Jimmy Barnes and Mikey Dread (featured last week).

Soon we will be running features on the play grading equipment mandersmedia uses, we have chosen some of the best in their format to be able to give you the best possible feedback on your playgrading request (eg. for 8 Track, we use an Akai CR-81D).

There’s a big focus on listing new items, CD, then cassettes and maybe some more vinyl this week, we believe in listing everything we can, after all, one of the most used Hip Hop samples of all time was from an album originally pulled from a dollar bin!

How do you fancy a podcast? or some You Tube videos? What would you like them to be on? Feed back as we’re always interested in hearing your opinions.

That’s everything for this week, as always, keep your eyes peeled on the Blog for news stories around all different genres of music.

Have a great week! John from mandermedia.

The week in mandersmedia

Hello and welcome! Hope you’ve had a good week…

So, what’s been happening this week?

New packaging used for CDs we’ve started to use cardboard based packaging for your CDs, a change from the jiffy bags being used previously.

Listed! Lots of new titles been added over the last week… CDs and some vinyl, some really interesting titles if you’re about the music and not the outer jacket (David Bowie, Gregory Isaacs). Another highlight of the week is the Mikey Dread – Roots and Culture 12″, a rare cut from the early 1980s on the Dread At The Controls label… watch out this week for more vinyl, CDs and cassettes…

mandermedia is a registered company! mandersmedia is a registered company trading as a business.

Watch out for… Soon we will be donating a percentage of the sales to charity, keep watching this space for more news on this.

Price reductions… some more price reductions this week, see the Blog just published.

Did you know… David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust is about Vince Taylor, who wrote Brand New Cadillac which was covered by The Clash. (thanks to thisdayinmusic for the fact)

That’s all for this week, as always, if you have any questions or feedback, please get in contact.

Have a great week! John from mandersmedia

The week at mandersmedia

Hi everyone and hope you’ve had a great week. There’s quite a bit going on here at mandersmedia…

cropped-background-5.jpg  background 1

We’ve had a re-brand! Thanks to Perez Parrido for the new look, it’s a fantastic visual which we think more accurately represents mandersmedia as for some time now, we have been selling multiple formats and the old image really represented Vinyl Records. We like its dynamic, colourful but classic look with plenty of movement. Our logo has also changed to more accurately reflect our image moving forwards. The font here has also changed from an ornate to cleaner contemporary look. We hope you like it and we’re always interested to hear your feedback.

New ways to pay! We have just introduced new ways to pay at the shop on Discogs which include Paypal Credit (in GBP), Cashiers Cheque, Cheque, Money Order and Cash. We would like to offer as many options as possible to purchase to make it as convenient for you to buy your favourite music as possble.

We can play grade everything we sell! We’re very proud to be able to play grade everything we sell… Last week, we highlighted the Akai Open Reel and Akai 8 Track machines used for this, this time, it’s the Sony MDS-JE440 MiniDisc we highlight, this is a classic player from Sony and, in the future, MiniDiscs will become another format we will be selling.

Lots of Price reductions! Yesterday, there were around 100 price reductions through mandersmedia across the different formats, the Blog with them all on was published last night, it’s our biggest amount of price reductions for you! Every week, prices get reviewed to make sure they remain fair and competitive.

Did you know? James Brown holds the record for most US Hot 100 entries (ninety-nine) without ever scoring a number-one song. (thanks to

that’s everything for this week, if you’re a fan of CDs and Cassettes, keep your eyes on the shop on Discogs as there’s more being added this week…

until next time… thanks for all your support as always, John
