Next month, Taking Back Sunday will embark on a summer-long tour including several European festival appearances and a co-headlining tour alongside Coheed & Cambria (check out all of the band’s upcoming tour dates here). Before they depart, TBS guitarist and vocalist John Nolan is making some time for his fans in his native Long Island, announcing two performances at Sip This in Valley Stream, New York on April 28th, both of the which will be recorded and filmed.
The announcement comes on the heels of his 10-date Birthday Tour, which saw Nolan assembling a full band for the first time ever in his solo career, as well as special guest appearances from his sister and Straylight Run bandmate Michelle DaRosa and Taking Back Sunday bassist Shaun Cooper. Fans that attend either Sip This show will be treated to more special guests, including another appearance from DaRosa to perform songs from Straylight Run.
“When the tour ended we said, ‘It’s a shame we weren’t able to get a good recording of one of those shows,’ says Nolan. ‘So we decided to put a show together specifically for that purpose.’”
