It’s happening again! Just one year ago, we shared the news that a copy of Sex Pistols’ God Save The Queen went for the outrageous amount of $14,690. At the time, it set a record for the most expensive single ever sold on Discogs. Fast forward to November 2018 and here we are with another copy of the same single selling for $15,822! This marks the seventh sale on Discogs of over $10,0000 — a trend we investigated recently, which doesn’t appear to be slowing down.

That’s not all. While it falls well below the record-setting copy of The Black Album, this single is officially the most expensive 7″ ever sold on Discogs! The previous record holder was a single by Lennon and McArtney (sic) from October 2017.

With 29 more releases in the list, the God Save The Queen sale isn’t the only interesting thing that happened in November 2018. You’ll find not one, but two releases from the late punk provocateur GG Allin. Few musicians are as divisive and infamous as Allin. He made those rinky dink Sex Pistols look like The Monkees. If you don’t know why, you should probably look him up yourself. Just don’t do it at the dinner table. Pink Floid (sic) are back as well, showing once again that misprints of famous artists are sought after.

We prefer to keep it short and sweet otherwise and not tell you what you already know. Expect some black metal here and there, unique funk and soul singles, and Bob Dylan. Business as usual. Dig in!

He once told me he’d never conduct/record a full cycle because he didn’t like the 8th, for one, and because others could do that better. I wonder if the @budfestivalorch will record it eventually – and then with which conductor. 😈😀
